Metamorphosis of National magnitude

Czech Republic is to experience a “metamorphosis of national magnitude”. The country’s president, prime minister, head of parliament, foreign minister and defense minister have all agreed to use “Czechia” as country’s one-word alternative name, reported Reuters. But the name must win cabinet approval before it becomes official.

捷克共和国将经历一次“举国之变”。据路透社报道，该国总统、总理、议会主席、外交部长和国防部长都同意使用Czechia一词作为国家简称。但是这个新名字需要内阁表决通过后才能成为官方名称。

国家名可分为地名(geographic name)、官方名称(official political name)或者简称(short one-word name)。比如英国的地名是Great Britain， 官方名称是The United Kingdom of Great Britain, 简称为UK。
